Atari Breakout is a classic arcade game that first appeared in 1976 and spawned a huge amount clones due to its popularity. Sometimes these games are also referred to as Arkanoid games, after the Taito Company’s game Arkanoid (1986), but this game right here is the original that started it all. To complete each level, the player must destroy the rows of bricks stacked at the top of the level using a ball and a paddle. The player must strike the ball with the paddle and bounce it against the bricks to break them. To prevent losing the ball, the player must react quickly, using the paddle to catch the ball and send it toward the bricks again.
