Wake Up The Box 2: As a huge fan of the first Wake Up The Box game I was very excited to see a sequel finally show up. I have to say that I am more apprehensive of sequels and I tend to judge them on a harsher scale if I enjoyed the first, because there is so much fun and quirky puzzle solving in this series I couldn’t imagine them stepping it up for a full sequel. But this game has updated the graphical style and the challenge of solving the puzzles in all the best ways. There are new items in the world and new ways to wake up that lazy old box, and I have to say I found as much joy and merriment playing this game that I did in the first. Now there’s bouncy material that can launch balls around the stage, and balls that remove wood from the playing field, two elements that blend together nicely. Just like the last game there are kooky levels that are easier to solve but a funny joke, and then there are those tough levels that seem almost impossible at first, but with a little determination, and excellent timing you’ll pull through.
Some players may get frustrated, but I found most levels that really had me scratching my head just took some time and few breaks. I have to leave the game for a big, maybe take a shower or even wait a day and come back, and then once I find the solution I feel stupid for not seeing sooner. That to me speaks of a really great puzzle game, and that is what Wake Up The Box 2 pulls off so well. It’s so much fun but it’s a real challenge that doesn’t usually feel like it’s cheating you.
I give Wake Up The box 2 - 5 Bgames stars out of 5.
