Vertical Drop Heroes is a great game that challenges you to collect loot while dodging traps and enemies on your way down screen. You start as regular Joe but you can rescue heroes to help you in your quest, which is stwhere the fun and depth of this game come in. There are five different heroes to find, each with a unique skill, and there tons of artifacts to earn throughout the game, which can help you to improve those skills. The goal is to rescue five princess in 5 different temples on a randomly generated map, this gives the game a lot of replay value, but unfortunately also leaves it without a save feature. You get to get to keep all your artifacts and masks, but every time you start up the game it’s from level one which might frustrate people who don’t have the time or attention span to get every princess in one sitting.
Still, the game is a unique and fun challenge that has a solid and simple control system ( Like many other games on the Retro genre). There’s a variety of enemies to face and some boss battles standing between you and your and damsel in distress, not to mention a survival and two player mode that are nice after thoughts.
Also collecting the hats and artifacts is really bumping up the addictive nature of the game and makes this game something to remember.
Vertical Drop Heroes is one flash game I know I’ll be coming back to again and again, and I’ll have a different dungeon to craw each time!
I give Vertical Drop Heroes a 4.5 out 5 Bgames stars.
