The land of Turvy was a quiet, little, happy place until little Topsy found a little portal along his way and decided to to check it out. What he later discovered is that the portal transferred him to a cube-shaped world, with switches, platforms and no gravity!
The bad news were that for Topsy to come back home, he needs to learn how to master gravity and solve all puzzles in this weird place.
After that touching opening we say hello to Topsy, a nice character that needs to find the flag on each level, while watching out from spikes and other hazards. By the way, have you noticed that whenever you see a gravity-retro games you will automatically stumble into deadly spikes ( check out Color Theory to see what i am talking about).
Onto the game, overall graphics is simple, and there could been some improvements, but usually retro games do not feature high level of graphics, so we will skip this one. The music is kinda melancholic and gets you in the right mood.
The game play, on the other hand is quite challenging, the game starts out very easy, but already on level 7, the difficulty increases and some thinking must be used to complete the level.
The game mechanic is a little confusing. In order to change the gravity you must touch the ledge of the object, which interferes the overall flow of the game ( Changing gravity by using a key could improve that, but it might harm the levels themselves, so it is up to the developer to decide).
The game's goal is trying to finish all 25 levels, while collecting all coins and dying as least times possible.
I must say i enjoyed playing Topsy Turvy. It's a nice addictive game, and while we already saw this game-play before, it has some challenging levels packed inside.
Topsy Turvy receives 3.5 bgames stars
