Nikola Tesla was a famous Serbian inventor with some eccentric ideas, one of his interesting idea was the Tesla Death Ray, that could obliterate anything it touches.
The game is a classic turret/ defense game, your goal is defending your territory from the invasion of dozens of soldiers, ground forces and aerial enemies.
When looking at Tesla Death Ray game-play, I was pretty impressed from the easiness of the controls, a fact that has upsides and downsides.
The good thing about Tesla Death Ray game-play is the fast learning curve, aim and shoot via the mouse, the weaker side is that you get the feeling that this game could really rock, with more upgrades, weapons and enemies.
Nonetheless, Tesla Death Ray is not an easy game. While the first 3 waves were easy to complete, the game suddenly takes a wild turn and the fourth wave usually results in sudden death, while being rammed by various enemy planes and soldiers.
The game's art is pretty unique, the orange graphics really ads elegant flavor and distinguishes it from many modern games. While the graphics excelled I must not that the game's music and sound effects are pretty disappointing, the soldier screams and blasts are really sounds very monotonous and send you searching for the mute button.
Another feature that really has potential is the upgrades section. The upgrades are very helpful and a smart use could really boost the game-play. What i personally recommend is buying a Mini-Coil as soon as you can ( it is like a Mini me that shoots) and then investing your wealth onto chain lightning ( pretty awesome upgrade), from there on it is you against the machine!
Tesla Death Ray receives 3.5 out of 5 Bgames stars.
