Some gfames are all about atmosphere, tag attack is the perfect example. Do not be mistaken that Tag Attack doesn't have a good game play, but we have seen too many online space shooters lately.
So what makes Tag Attack so special? Firstly, the graphics, that features a colorful deep space world, filled with various enemies. All enemies have different shapes and once blown they turn into beautiful fireworks. What can Isay, death never looked so vivid!
The second parameter that boosts up the game, is the mesmerizing music. This short music loop fits nicely into the colorful world and too many times I imagined myself sitting in the cockpit blasting those colored aliens.
Tag Attack is a great example how suitable music and graphics can take a plain idea and make it look perfect.
Onto the game play, Tag Attack is another space shooter game where you take your ship to the top of the screen, avoiding enemies and their shots. A little twist in the plot is the shooting technique that is done by tagging your enemoies, no manual shooting needed. That tegging is being doen by hovering on the enemy, from there on your auto shooting does the rest.
I found the tagging quite suitable to the overall look & feel of the game, and found myself hovering over enemies, enjoying the soothing music for too many times.
The game begins quite easy, and the first 5 levels were done easily, with 100% hit ratio, no misses at all!
After that, the game's difficulty increases with Asteroids and enemy shots, and the game begans to be quite challenging.
Either than being a game, Tag Attack is a magical space ride that gives a nice twist to the plain space shooting games out there.
