Retro games just keep popping up lately in various online versions- Color Theory, Give Up, Robot for instance, and many more keep coming to our computer screen.
Shoot Pixels is a fun top-down shooter game. The game launches you to a war that is held inside your computer. You begin by building a fully customized super-tank, and when i say custom i mean it. The first thing you do is choosing a weapon for your tank, but later on you can create your own weapon by using your wild imagination.
Like most retro games, the control is pretty simple- Movement is made by arrows or WASD keys, fire and aiming is done by clicking the mouse. Every wave you complete will award you with credits that can be later use to upgrade each and every part of you super tank- Guns, armor and basically each aspect of your craft.
All in all Shoot Pixels is a decent arcade shooter game, it has lots of enemies to battle, very interesting polished graphics ( if you're into retro style) and the weapon creation part is kinda fun and adds a twist to the genre.
Shoot Pixels game opens up a nice niche for games that demand creativity also, when planning your weapons wisely, you can really create some hazardous weapons ( Did someone say kamikaze?) that can really lower the difficulty and make it less challenging.
On the less brighter side it seems that the game could offer more upgrades like speed upgrades for instance. Also, the difficulty level could be raised, even at hard mode the game is pretty easy.
Pros- Fun, original retro game, lots of action and smooth retro art.
Cons- More upgrade options and "smarter" enemies.
Shoot Pixels receives a lovely 4 out of 5 Bgames stars
