Enjoyed Earl Grey and this Rupert guy? Here's another point and click mystery solver. You’re the ace detective on the case trying to solve the murder of a young woman in a beach house on a dark and stormy night. You’re given a few tools to start with: fingerprint tape, a duster and dust. Now, with all the info I’ve just given you tell me who killed her?
That’s about how much information you’re entrusted with at the start. You have to discover how to play the game as you go and trust me, it can be frustrating.
Pros: I love the graphics and art, very noir and dark. The concept is wonderful and the story is compelling. It hooks you in and you’ve wasted an hour of your time without noticing.
Cons: The user interface is a pain to utilize, finding your clues should be difficult but not because the pointer refuses to cooperate. Navigation follows suit making moving from area to area difficult at different times in the story.
Tips: to avoid having to use the walkthrough use the following tips to help you out: grab everything you can. Everything you can pick up will help you progress the game. Once you have everything you think you can grab take it back to the station then dust and tape it. Don’t forget that more than two clues can be tied together on the leadboard. If you are thorough, you can make it through the game only visiting every site once( except the police station.)
The Crime Scene if well worth the time and effort but make no mistake it is flawed-don’t be too critical of spelling-and SPOILER!! don’t expect to find out who the girl was in the end. The story does become more interesting as it unravels. Good sleuthing!
All in all a decent game 3/5
