Robot Wants Ice is the fourth installment in the massively popular series. This time the robot is setting out on a quest to fulfill another of his unexplainable desires - he wants a delicious, cold and creamy treat and for this he is accompanied with a loyal canine ally .
For what it is, the game does everything that it strives to achieve just how it should be done. In my opinion it is a huge step up from the last 2 chapters - the qualities are kept and even improved upon while the annoying parts have been corrected - the Puppy functions much more predictably than it’s feline counterpart in a previous game and the game world is much easier to navigate in, unlike the somewhat confusing teleporter mayhem during the search for Fishy. While this time around the Robot doesn’t have as many different abilities and powers, it makes up for it by bringing back the simplicity of upgradable laser shooting and jet flying. The bosses have remained innovative and also reasonably challenging and the just like the previous game you can skip much of it if you wish to save time and go for that Rocket Robot award.
The game also introduces some completely new additions to the series. Now the Robot can withstand more than 1 hit! On “Normal” he can take three, while on “Madcap” - two hits before having to respawn. The “Madcap” mode also makes the game much tougher by boosting the enemies’ HP, bullets they fire, their speed and the number of missiles falling in the outside area. It definitely boosts the replay value for the game, giving more punch for us who didn’t have enough the first time through and the twist in the epic finale will surprise even the most hardcore fans.
A fantastic conclusion to the already iconic series, it ends while on its peak. I give it both thumbs up and a place among my all-time Flash favourites.
IF you missed any of them here they are-Robot wants Fishy, Kitty and Puppy!
