Rhombird Is a very simple puzzle game where you draw a line from point a to point b to have your Rhombird follow it. Of course there are obstacles in the way, and gems to collect for points, which will dictate what kind of line you draw. The more gems you collect the better score you will get, and if you gain all the gems in one series of levels you will earn a secret level. It is an interesting concept, but it does tend to get repetitive. And the difficultly tends to shift around, it doesn’t get harder and harder but certain puzzles can be really tough because of the space you need to get through to get the gems or finish the level. It’s really simple game play here, and veteran puzzle gamers might find it a bit childish. You’ll either be trying to squeeze the Rhombird through a tight space, or timing your start, to make sure the Rhombird runs along the string at just the right time so that a moving element of the level doesn’t kill you. Some levels will let you stop right before the tricky, moving element to help you time things perfectly. I just wish that when you were drawing the line you could delete small portions without clearing the whole line. It can get frustrating in the later levels when one little slip of the mouse can cause you to have to redraw an entire path. Of course you can always replay levels to get more gems, but to be honest the game gets tiresome enough on the first run through that you won’t exactly be chomping at the bit to try more levels over again. It’s not the worst game in the world, but it just doesn’t have enough variety to really be something special. I give Rhombird 2 Bgames stars out of 5.
