Rebus 2 is a fun word game that involves some tricky word puzzles. The game is fairly straightforward, it will present you with one or two words spaced inside of a black square and you have to figure out what turn of phrase it’s getting at. Some of the puzzles you will probably recognize from other similar games, but some of them are devious and really hard to figure out. This is the definition of one of those puzzles games where you can’t spend hours looking at the same thing and not make any progress, then come back to it later and say “OF COURSE! That’s the answer, how could I not SEE that?!” It’s a pretty fun feeling, especially with how clever some of the puzzles are. The difficulty will slide dramatically between levels, and even between players. Certain people will think about things in certain ways, and have different vocabularies, so something that’s obvious to you may not make any sense at all to your friend.
This game makes a great time waster, whether you’re killing a few minutes before class or trying to get through a really slow day at work. You’ll fly through some puzzles, but then get stuck on one. Prepare your chin to be scratched and your minutes to just whizz right by as you ponder some of these interesting riddles. Thankfully it also comes with a hint button, which often serves up pretty obvious information, but sometimes that’s all you need to solve the puzzle. While some of these puzzles exist in other forms it’s nice to have them all compiled in this convenient little package. It’s not a complete revolution but it is a very fun game and terribly addictive.
