The machines have taken over; again, and only you can save the world by sending in your nanobots. You have to navigate your way through several puzzle mazes as you guide the nanobots to the next level. 36 levels total with varying degrees of difficulty-Nanopaths is certainly not a linear progression of challenge, some levels later in the game were downright easy to finish. You receive more points the faster you complete the path. Every level has a bot at a starting point and you add waypoints, “nodes” for the robot to travel along to the gate-usually on the opposite side. You will have obstacles like laser fences, moving enemies, even other nanobots will be a problem if you run into their path.
Pros: Music, I loved it, very electronic and relaxing. The sound effects in game were strangely appropriate-not something I usually pay much attention to, but it seemed to stick out and, to me, added to the gameplay experience.
Cons: Not exactly an original body of work, but it is a pleasant time-waster. A story was introduced but there was no development as you progressed through the puzzles (see sushi cat). The point being, if you’re going to go through the effort of creating a story then see it through to the end. Otherwise, just leave it off and the game would have stood alone just fine.
Observation: I only found 2 levels in the first 18 especially difficult, 11 and 16. What I discovered is those levels that require specific timing created the most challenges, but the ability to add/delete and move nodes made trial and error solutions to the game that much more enjoyable.
All in all a decent play 3/5 Bgames stars
