Monster Castle Defense is a pixel graphic tower defense game from the monster’s perspective. I, for one, feel the monster’s rights have been trampled too long. Fighting endlessly against humans and their incessant need for expansion, finally the monster’s take a much needed respite from the fighting to find the humans have followed them to their summer home.
None of the above is true other than the fact you must defend your castle from the human invasion and protect your monster queen at all costs. I loved every thing about this game. The pixilated graphics are fun and nostalgic, the music was just right amount of cheese, and the game play was fun and offered much replayability with the difficulty levels and achievements.
The only hindrance of the game is a lack of a speed adjustment, it does bog down the levels to where it feels like you’re just grinding. Of the choices of soldiers to pick from it’s clear the developers favor a ranged attack, I would have liked to see more melee combatants to choose from.
Worst enemy: the suicide bomber-it wipes our all your upgrades in one fell boom. If you don’t have the bones to drop a fireball on him, then you lose the time and effort.
Best ally: the plant-the pellets do very low damage, but that can be easily upgraded. I found it a mainstay in every level.
Most confusing element to the game-the level-ups for each ally. Stats and damage weren’t effected by the upgrades, mainly range and appearance of the ally-to have any meaningful increase you must upgrade the first stat listed on each unit.
All in all Monster Castle Defense is a fantastic play with loads of replayability.
