The name says it all - your main and only goal is to survive. You need to protect your Mecharon and its base at any cost. Besides that, there isn't a complicated plot in the background. It's all down to shoot and kill. 

You start the game with a very slow approaching spider enemies that you'll find no difficulties eliminating. As the game progresses, your enemies will be faster, bigger and shooting back, so you don't get to stay nonchalant for long. The game shows its challenge as new bugs are introduced to you as they're flashing in, shooting and disappearing. you will need to be very quick and choose your weapons wisely to be able to eliminate them before they eliminate you. The graphics of the game are great, and the sound is not an excessive and annoying element in the background. The interface is smooth and suitable for the concept of the game.

The rules are pretty simple and easy to follow - you use your mouse to shoot, and keys to move your character. As the game evolves rather quickly, the skill expected from you using the mouse and shoot will grow higher, but it's not just about shooting and moving around. An achievement system and a perk list gives it a nice addition that makes this shooting game somewhat more exciting than others of its kind. Though sometimes the achievements announcing box is always showing up right in the higher center of the screen, hiding the action you're involved with now. 

 The game also has a nice weapon stock, as you collect during your killings and the bombs will come out handy when you're facing the huge and slowly approaching spiders threating to defeat you. Though it can be hard at times knowing which one you're using at the moment, only through cycling your weapons, you will see a text box describing your new chosen weapon. I'd suggest a tiny display of which weapon you're using now, and which weapons are following it would decrease your chances of dying, as when the game becomes more intense your weapon switch needs to be fast. Another minor difficulty concerning weapons that set me dying often when i was around wave 16-17, was the slow reloader. Though choosing a fast reloading perk in the perk list should make your life a little easier.  

In overall, The game moves fast, it is definitely challenging and although it has some cons, they don't interfere much with the gaming experience. As all skill games, you must be quick and know how to handle your resources for your own survival.
I give Mecharon 2 Survival a 3.6/5 stars.
