Mad Bombs is a quirky puzzle game where you use little bomb people to solve puzzles that involve spikes, ropes and killing zombies. What more could you ask for?! The game is really cute, and I don’t usually say that. Your cannon can only drop out the little fellas, then you run them around the level and you have to light their fuse and get them to kill all the zombies on a level. It starts out simple, but as you progress the levels get more complex and challenging. When you light the bomb’s fuses they freak out and start whining in kind of a funny way, it also makes you feel bad. When you keep blowing them up and they make their little noises it’s really funny, and makes you think twice about blasting the helpful little guys to bits. The levels are challenging enough to keep you trying but not so unfair that they get frustrating. The quirky humor of the game also helps when you’re replaying levels to get things just right. The idea isn’t completely unique to Mad Bombs, but it does put an interesting twist on an old formula. It’s not the kind of game that exists one hundred times under different names. There are only a few levels, and while I’d love to see more each one is so different that it’s not a huge drawback. The variety and humor make it a real treat, even it’s short but sweet. Casual gamers will really enjoy this game with its simple game play and easy controls. Really hardcore puzzle fans may find it a bit short, and easy but it’s still defiantly worth playing. It’s a great game but I just wish there were a few more levels and a bit more of a challenge to it.
