Icy gifts is a simple chain reaction puzzler, you click somewhere on the screen and try to eliminate everything on the screen to advance to the next level. There are various power ups and achievements to obtain. Collect gift boxes to upgrades your ‘attacks’ and make later levels easier. Each level offers a possible 3 stars upon the complete wipeout of all objects within the level-36 levels with 3 stars each gives you the most difficult achievement. Oooooh, mysterious.
Icy Gifts was actually pretty fun, not ingenious or revolutionary, but a nice time waster. The levels aren’t all a cakewalk, but not impossible either. The achievements and upgrades help to keep you engaged, and the game overall took less than an hour to complete 100%. Graphics are bright and happy-colorful.
36 levels seem like quite a bit, but the several of the levels are just duplicates and a few more levels could add more complexity to the game allowing more enjoyability and possibly hooking people on the game like meth.
You have 7 upgrades to develop, few offer substantial advantages, but a;; help some in the long run: Click radius, best upgrade-expands the ring of the first explosion. Gift magnet-pointless-upgrade last maybe. Mine Radius, doesn’t expand very much with each upgrade but it’s somewhat useful. Shell count increases the number of pellets that fly from the shell. Very good upgrade. Acid lifetime-causes the shell to stick longer-also very useful for clearing out later levels. Tesla targets is supposed to increase the amount of targets hit by the bolts, not that effective. Wave rise increases the size of the wave as it travels, a waste of effort.
