Platform shooters are one the most ancient genres on the gaming world. Generally you invent a plain plot that evolves stolen artifacts or kidnapped characters and generally try to explain why the hell your character is holding a huge gun blasting whatever it sees on the screen.
GunBot is no different, the storyline involves aliens, lizards and an ancient stone that was stolen and as you might guess it ends up with you holding a big gun and shooting everything on the screen, for your sister's sake, of course!
In the game we will travel between various levels as we shoot different creatures, some will attack airborne, some will be on the ground, but they all of them have one common ground- They're ugly and vicious.
Controlling the character is pretty straight-forward, you move with arrows or WASD and attack using your mouse, the controls are pretty convenient and the overall feeling of the game is pretty easy to master.
As you gun down enemies you will earn experience points and money, by collecting those two you will have the opportunity to acquire new weapons and skills that will assist you in the following levels.
The overall difficulty of the game is pretty challenging, and collecting all stars and money is not always easy, as you will be focused on surviving.
Like all good platform-shooters GunBot offers lots of action, cool bosses, many upgrades and special skills like double jumping and cool automatic guns.
All in all, GunBot is a quite challenging shooting game, the graphics is pretty nice, the cut-scenes are funny and there's a nice variety of weapons and skills to acquire.
On the less better side, the game tends to be repetitive and the enemy variety is not that high.
