Gibbets 2, level pack: Is an expansion on a fun physics puzzler where the goal is to use a bow and arrow to save hanging victims from suffocation. The new levels add fun variety to a game, which is a lot of fun if not a tad disturbing at times. It has an outer shell of niceness, the characters look happy and appreciative of your dangerous help, but the more you play it and start to think it about it actually has a creepy dark undertone. Apparently hangings are extremely common in this world, as each level has at least one person dangling from a noose. Also, if you hit the people in just the right spot the arrow will cut the rope yet still stick into their head. Instead of the character dying, you win the level and the stuck victim keeps on smiling like you saved them cleanly. This adds some depth to the game, actually, though some people a tad off putting it’s neat that the style of the game kind of changes depending on your time spent playing and your point of view.
The game play is solid, and the idea pans out rather well. There are certain power ups that give you extra arrows, or let you launch them from different positions necessary to make certain shots. All in all the puzzles have enough variety and the game play keeps things interesting and warrant this new pack of levels. As a fan of the first two games, I have to say this new version adds plenty of fun and eerie puzzles. If you’re the squeamish type you might want to avoid this particular game, but I give Gibbets 2 level pack 4 Bgames stars out of 5.
