Flaming Zombooka 2, the sequel to the popular action/puzzle game Flaming Zombooka, places you in a world after a zombie virus spreads, and you are left with nothing but your trusty bazooka.

Throughout the levels, there are many types of rockets: normal rockets, which you have an unlimited number of, sliders, which are a golden-yellow colour and have a bigger explosion, cannonballs, which do relatively low damage, but throw anything they hit a fair distance, so they’re great for knocking a zombie into something a normal rocket couldn’t, bouncers, pink rockets which, you guessed it, bounce off anything that isn’t a zombie or other such possible target, and droppers, which drop mini parachute bombs as it goes, which WILL be effected by explosions. Apart from the normal bombs there are limits to the amount of each bomb you have, which is indicated either on the bonus before you pick it up, or down the bottom left next to the name of the bomb you’re firing.

The levels require no real mind-numbing planning up until the 18th level, at which point, you’ll need to start worrying about what will happen next. The first 17 levels are all more of an introductory sequence.

One of my personal favourites for the new edition of Flaming Zombooka, among trampoline ground and moving zombies, is the survivors. Survivors are girls in pink shirts and white miniskirts. You can shoot them, launch them, feed them to the zombies, whatever you want. That is, so long as you don’t mind losing. They are the reason that level 18 is the first difficult level. They’re just standing there, on boxes balanced on zombie heads. My initial reaction to this was kind of like: “What are you doing standing on that zombies head? Are you trying to get killed?” then I realised that they never do anything, so I decided to ignore their idiocy and, if it started to annoy me, imagine they were paralysed. Anyway, These girls will die from pretty much anything a zombie will, plus zombies will eat them if they come into contact, though they can take several rockets to the face, unlike the zombies.

Earlier I mentioned moving zombies. That’s right, this time, some zombies will move towards you, and they will not be stopped by anything short of a cardboard box at hip-height. If a zombie reaches you, you’re dead, and speaking of dead, if anything that kills zombies hits you, except your rockets, you’re dead too. One of the levels, I wont say which, Has the zombies lined up waling towards 2 cannons aimed directly at you, And you have to stop them from reaching you. That could be the best of them all.

Anyway, this could easily be one of my favourite games, and earns 4/5 Bgames stars, as the only thing that could possibly be improved would be the fact that survivors don’t move like the zombies, that would have made the game perfect. Whether you’re looking to burn some time, or to relax, Flaming Zombooka 2 is an excellent game.
