Elephant Quest is a grand game! The story puts you on the search for Wooly the mammoth to recover your stolen hat. You can complete quests for your fellow elephants or try to run straight at Wooly-I wouldn’t suggest the latter. One of the outstanding elements of this game is the upgrade system, allowing you to pick and choose your path as well as choose from three bonuses per character trait upgrade. Sounding complicated? It is, but don’t fret. Another element to make the game near perfect is the simplicity of the controls, navigating through the menus is very easy and stress free. The quest-based platformer is by far one of the best genres to play-puzzles and quests to keep you engaged, solid game play performance to challenge you at every level. There’s very little to not love about Elephant Quest-I can’t wait for a sequel, or at least an entire franchise.
Playing the game will take you through 4 areas to collect 4 blue keys to gain access to Wooly’s room. Each beastie gives experience points to take you to the upgrades. Completing quests also gives you bonuses like added firepower and big experience point rewards. The music is lame, but the graphics and game play more than make up for it (graphics see Sushi Cat franchise).
The best tip I can give you is to constantly improve your jumping ability-you’ll need it for the 10 balloons quest and it makes fighting Wooly Mammoth so much easier. With it you can circumvent one of his attacks completely with well-timed jumps and a little speed. A word of caution on adding minions-the more you add the more lag you can expect in game play-but it does help to have a few flying around you-toward the end I didn’t even need the mouse to attack, the minions took care of most targets for me.
All in all Elephant Quest is an awesome play! 5/5 Bgames stars
