After their previous success with the original hit game- Effing Hail. Aeiowu and Jiggmin decided to go back to the scene, with a game that resembles the style and game-play of the hail, but with a new theme.
While the developers insist it is a different game, anyone that played Effing Hail, will have the distinct feeling this game can be called effing Hail 2.
Effing Meteors puts you in charge of the skies and gives you the key to one of nature's most devastating tools- Meteors!
The aim of the game is destroying as many species available by creating huge meteors. The forming of the meteors is done by holding the mouse and trying to unite as many meteors in one spot until a giant Planetoid is being formed. After the initial creating you will try holding the giant object in space without losing it, a task that gets harder as bigger the meteor is. Once formed and controlled it is time to throw the giant meteor unto your enemies, and cause huge explosions and deadly combos!
During the game you will face various dinosaurs, airborne prehistoric creatures, aliens and even space ships.
The hardest part for me in the game, was battling the missiles that kept being shot at my meteors and sometimes destroyed them before they actually hit the land.
Effing Meteors is a fun, casual original game, the control is a little hard, and precious minutes will pass until you can really grab and mold a decent Planetoid that can cause real mayhem.
The downside of the game is its length, Effing Meteors is quite short, and after several planets ( and 64,000) species killed, the game suddenly ends, after slaying the giant tyrannosaurus rex, and keeps you begging for more planets to destroy!
Effing Meteors is a lovely, original, yet short game, which gives it 4 out of 5 Bgames stars
