Earl Grey and that Rupert guy is a nicely stylized and quirky point and click adventure game where you are trying to deliver a package to the Earl Grey. His estate is very spooky looking and seemingly deserted until you find some strange spectacles that you see the ghosts populating the creepy mansion. You have to find items to help you make your way to the third floor to do your job, and there are lots of nice little details that make it fun and engaging to explore the haunted house.
The game graphics looks real and nice, and fit the well executed style of writing perfect ally. There are a few minor blips, like some typos in the writing and areas where you can get your character stuck which will force you to refresh your browser, but you can pick up exactly where you left off.
The minor issues don’t completely ruin things, but they do stand out against the polish that makes this game shine.
The puzzles are interesting and not too tough, if you talk and explore enough you’ll figure things out. The items don’t stand out too much in the backgrounds, which I like in an adventure game like this, and there is plenty to click on that isn’t useful and Rupert will let you know when something just isn’t important, or if it is what he needs to cut it loose. Everything comes together well in this game, and the style and writing make it a cut above many of your run of the mill point and click games.
I give Earl Grey and That Rupert guy 4.5 Bgames stars out of five.
