This incarnation of the Dragon Age franchise is a clear plot by the developers to draw more players into another MMO. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that model if the games used to entice offer either glorious prizes and riches in the other game or are just fantastic ports in and of themselves. DAL remix falls into the first category. Every level completed offers up a nice piece of equipment to use in it’s facebook version.

 The game itself is pretty simple-let’s go to the run down, for my first-time readers here’s how it goes-I offer up 5 points total in 5 categories. All games start with a half point in every category and then it’s theirs to lose or if I am thoroughly impressed with that element of the game they can net an entire point. Here we go:

 Art/Graphics: .5/1

I didn’t find this game was very bright or clear, the sprites were simple 2-D characters, lacking in depth.

 Sound/FX: 1/1

The mix was appropriate for the fantasy genre-an epic sounding track with chanting in the menu screens. I particularly enjoyed the screams and shrieks.

 Interface/Controls: 0/1

I didn’t like the “mouse only” controls for everything. It’s counterintuitive for an action game, I prefer to have at least a couple of attack controls on the keyboard.

 Story/Plot: .5/1

Most games now gloss over the story and forget how much a well developed story can add to the experience-this game had a great start and initial development, but stopped there-as the character progressed through the levels, there was no story advancement.

 Enjoyment/Replayability: .5/1

It was fun as a once through game, but I certainly won’t play it again, there’s no further reward than scoring a higher grade-and I achieved all the grades I needed in school.

 All in all Dragon Age Legends: Remix  is a decent run scoring 2.5/5 Bgames stars but keep in mind-this game is designed not to wow the player but entice them into the other game.
