It seems that retro is really pacing up lately, and to our next review let me present a new Sokoban style game, with a twist, well, lots of twists to be accurate.Cube Droid Saves the Galaxy demands a great adaptation of the classic games. While the main goal is reaching the target zone by pushing crates around the screen, there are many twists that have not been seen on any Sokoban game yet.The game play is quite simple, arrows to move our little friend, form there on the game gets more complicated, a lot more complicated!Pay notice that 2 crates put together, will not be moved, and you will have to restart the game.The game features many obstacles and enemies to avoid- Laser towers, Guardians that suddenly wake up upon your moves and vicious rotating roller-saws.While the first 4 levels do not demand too much planning, from there and on the game gets a lot more difficult. Planning ahead is a must and if you are not planning to do so, you might try another game, bubble shooter for instance ;-)?
Basically I always found Sokoban games to be quite hard, but the many elements this game adds ( traps, moving enemies, teleported boxes and more) really increase the game difficulty, which is a plus for experienced gamers, but not so much for the more casual ones.While you might like or not like the game-play I really enjoyed the in-games art. The graphics was very cute and even the pixel music was quite entertaining. The intro introduced a very nice 3D look and overall I do not have any remarks to that part.To sum it up Cunde Droid, is a quite challenging puzzle game. If you like Sokoban and hard puzzle game, this game is exactly for you. If you are more into casual games, stay off this one.
