Coaster Racer Is a fun, 3-D driving game where the tracks are roller coasters. There’s other racers on the course, who can bump you into the barriers which will cause you to take damage, and you can also end up sliding off the side if there’s nothing there to stop you.
There’s a good variety of courses, that all have different lengths and features. The shorter tracks tend to have sharper curves and the long ones have big hills and drops and some longer winding turns. It’s a fun game and the nitro can give you a boost in the middle of the race, plus you can upgrade carious attributes of your car like the engine or the tires. It would have been nice to see a little more customization of the actual look of your car, but at least you can change the color. The tracks are different enough that it isn’t a huge issue, and the 3-D graphics work really well and make the roller coaster aspect a lot of fun.
There’s three difficulties, and even with the nitro and the upgrades the hard setting offers a real challenge for those who find normal a bit too slow. It’s worth playing to check out all of the tracks, but with only one real type of car it doesn’t offer a lot of replay value. It’s a solid 3-D racer, and it’s rare to see a 3-D flash game that is this fast and smooth. It’s a nice racing game, it’d be even better with a few changes like sharing the best times on certain tracks so players could compete world wide instead of just against computers, and maybe some new cars to spice things up.
I give Coaster Racer 4 Bgames stars out of 5.
