Choo Choo Puzzles, where do I begin? The name is outrageously lame for a game like this. The game is however a quaint little puzzler that is simple in concept and execution that allows one to pass time on the computer with little mental effort. The goal of each of the 24 levels is to take the red wormy looking choo choo thing to the red dot by navigating hex mazes and sharp corners. Moving other wormy looking choo choo things out of the way so you can make it to the red dot is and essential skill you must possess if you wish to pass the level.
There’s nothing really unpleasant about the game other than the name, the graphics are bright, the music is easy listening jazz, Choo Choo Puzzle’s game play and interface are both smooth and unencumbered. There’s nothing too original about it, it reminds me of an old board game puzzle, traffic jam. The basic principle there is the same, remove obstacle “A” to get car/worm to point “B.”
I dozed off about level 16, but in my dream I completed the game and was very happy about it. One feature I would have removed would be the “skip” option-at the very least extend the time before it becomes available, you don’t really need to even play it if you’re patient enough. You’ll skip the entire game and see every level without moving a single piece on the board. Somewhat anti-climactic to just sit and watch the game go by.
I did find a few levels especially challenging: 6,8,13, and 16. Challenging in the sense I had to restart at least 3 times per level before completing it. I hope you enjoy this game for the decent romp that it is.
All in all a Choo Choo Puzzles is a dry play-decent for passing the time, 3/5 Bgames stars
