Balloon Town is similar to games like build-a-lot, vacation mogul and just about any other rts out there except you’re a balloon. 30 levels of balloon building fun puts you in charge of the development of the town and its population. You decide whether or not it’s time for mating, mining, defense, or upgrading with each level requiring specific goals. Gold and population being the most common requirements.
Pros: Well, it’s a cute game. Not too difficult to learn, game play is not exactly smooth but not a hindrance to the experience.
Cons: the tutorial is too long and the game feels like it’s trying to teach you even after the tutorial is over-the pace of the gaming experience is just too slow to be lots of fun. Most buildings aren’t available until later levels. The goals are repetitive and the music is annoying.
I’m not saying the game is bad because the cons have a longer list, it’s just that’s what stands out-and it definitely didn’t stop me from playing the game so it can’t be all bad, right? I mean, how many games feature balloon incest? That’s at least worth checking out.
Balloon Town is just a nice easy game-for example-level 14’s goals are as follows: 15 population and 5000 gold without the ability to build new housing just new mines. Starting out with 3 male and 3 female balloons I sent them all to the mine so I could build another mine. Once that was completed I had them all mate for two rounds of offspring and there you have the population. Each time a pair mates there are two offspring. Then send them all back to the mines, build a third and you’ll solve this level in about 3 minutes. If bad balloons show up them send half your miners out to defend and send ’em back when the threat is gone.
All in all-not a bad game: 3/5 Bgames stars
